Southwest Adds Non-stops to Minneapolis from BWI
Southwest Airlines already dominates BWI/Marshall Airport, and its adding Minneapolis to the list of nonstop flights.
Starting April 12, Southwest will operate two nonstops a day from BWI to the Twin Cities. It’s also introducing the service with fares as low as $79 each way.
Southwest (NYSE: LUV) accounts for more than 70 percent of the traffic at BWI, and continues to contribute to the airport’s growth.
BWI flew 2.2 million passengers in August, an all-time monthly record. It is now the Washington region’s busiest airport. BWI’s international departures were up 32 percent from a year ago.
