BWI Airport Sets Passenger Record in Fiscal 2015
Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport is reaching new highs.
The Linthicum Heights airport set a passenger record in fiscal 2015, boosted by an increase in international flights.
Traffic at the airport grew 2.4 percent over the year to nearly 22.8 million passengers, reflecting an all-time fiscal year record. The fiscal year ended June 30.
In June, nearly 2.2 million passenger flew through BWI, the second-busiest June in the airport’s history and up 5.2 percent over the year-ago month. International traffic increased 55.4 percent to 116,115 — the highest international total for any one month at BWI.
Service to seven new international destinations has launched so far in 2015.
